To bed a princess. (for lack of better title) Empty To bed a princess. (for lack of better title)

Post by Waistcoat Sat Nov 08, 2014 11:17 am

It was silent inside the kitchen of the DQP Mansion some of the occupants had gathered there to enjoy a beverage, either hot or cold, among themselves. However, there were no pleasantries or casual chit-chat exchanged between one another as each one bore a grim or concerned look on there faces in their little circle, and for good reason too.

Earlier that day one of them had the unfortunate luck to accidentally touch Jacquine's hand, something that causes her great distress and upset. It is almost an unwritten rule to avoid it altogether but most residents are still not accustomed to that, so it slips their mind until they themselves do it only to be reminded by a mental kick, provided by the anguish of Jacquine. On this occasion though it had taken them a good two hours to get Jacquine to calm down and to forgive who had done the deed.

Normally, these events were few but when they do happen it is almost apocalyptic (for lack of a better description) to deal with. Because of these events it also brings the other members to question the near enigmatic history of Jacquine, as most have come to the conclusion that she has been sheltered most of her life and starved of most basic (to them) forms of education, seeing as this is a twenty one year old with no knowledge of sexual intercourse among other things who acts very childlike. Due to this, and Doc Ryner withholding information, most have been very cautious what to say or do around her. So it had come to a conclusion that, with baby steps, Jacquine would be taught the basic fundamentals and make life a little easier for them.

'Starting with sexual education' Someone said.

Jacquine was definitely an anomaly. Kevin admittedly found it bizarre but decided to go with the flow, staring at Jacquine in curiosity.

You would think she would have at least taken sex ed classes, he thought before being reminded of her earlier outburst.

Apparently not.

"Jacquine, what do you even know about sex?"

Jacquine propped up her head after hearing her name.

'Hello, Mister Kevin' Jacquine said excitedly after doing her routine way of saying hello and kissing Kevin on the lips, much to his confusion.'

'What do I know about sex' she echoed 'I know that it is a delicious treat for good boys and girls' she finished smiling happily at the thought of it.

Kevin blanched. First for the kiss on the lips (something which he could not get used to), then her words.

He took a step back, held in a bubble of confusion and discomfort with a wry smile. He patted her shoulder upon giving enough distance, composing himself.

"A treat? Like a cookie?" He repeated for confirmation, knowing she clearly wasn't seeing eye to eye.

They didn't just have to start from the beginning. They had to rewrite everything the poor girl had been told.

'Of course like a cookie or a chocolate gateau, my favourite' Jacquine answered happily.

She looked at Kevin with a inquisitive look. Curious about what brought this conversation up.

'Why is it that you ask, Mister Kevin? Would you like some sex?' She asked with innocent curiosity.

How was Kevin going to handle this situation? There was so much wrong with this.

With patience. Lots of patience and hard work.

"No Jacquine, that's not what sex is," he calmly managed after a long pause.

'B...but I heard my papa say it' she said meekly

Jacquine began playing with the hem of her dress, she felt like she was going to be scolded for something.

"Well your father is a terrible liar," Kevin said, hands folding across his chest. He probably wasn't helping Jac's growing nervousness. "Sex is something you do, not eat."

Jacquine's head shot up looking at Kevin with shock and surprise. She slowly stood up as something so unfamiliar and foreign grew inside her, it made her feel sick and her body was shaking.

'P...please don't...say such horrible things' she said with great difficulty as her voice was just as shaky as her body.

Nathan wasn't sure why he had felt like buying the dessert from the little old woman in the mall who had been running the charity bake sale. He wasn't a big fan of sweets, but he had figured that maybe the team would enjoy it. After all, sex-in-a-pan was supposed to be really good. Nathan hummed quietly to himself as he entered the kitchen, the tray in hand.

He paused for a moment as steel grey eyes looked over the sight that greeted him, with Jacquine looking greatly upset, and Kevin being the only other person in the room. Had the other touched Jac's hand, or something as awful? Nathan wasn't sure, but he sure as hell was going to step in and fix things. He cleared his throat, a big, warm smile on his lips.

"Hey guys!" he greeted cheerfully. "I just bought some sex-in-a-pan! Would either of you like some?"

Food always made people feel better. That was science, and this particular dessert had chocolate in it, which was a mood booster.

What did he do? Kevin froze as the scene unravelled. Before he made a move to apologise, Nathan walked in with some food.

"Hey, Nathan," he greeted awkwardly. "Thanks, but no thanks."

He glanced towards Jacquine, scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm sorry Jac," he apologised, knees bending ever so slightly to level with her. "Let's not talk about this maybe?"

He didn't know the girl too well. Maybe he wasn't suited to teaching her about these things. He was lacking experience in the women's department after all.

Jacquine didn't look him in the eye, the apology smothered some of the feeling inside her but there where remnants of it. She managed "Okay" before turning away and sitting down. Whatever she was feeling she disliked it and wanted it to go away.

Luca entered the kitchen and took out his second lunch in the fridge before grabbing a chair and plopping beside Kevin. He tried waving at Jac, but was surprised to be ignored.

Huh?

Confused, he turned to the man beside him.

"Bello, what's going on?"

He was relieved that Jac had taken a seat, although not at all happy about the turn of events. This really wasn't a point of conversation people should be having with her, he thought. Especially if this is what was going to happen.

Kevin turned as Luca sat beside him, then returned him a meek smile. He wasn't that inclined to have an entire audience surrounding him over his blunder.

"I thought I'd ask about what Jac's concept on sex -- you know, because of the Doctor's suggestion," he explained. His eyes flickered back to Jac's uncomfortable figure. "I said something wrong."

He frowned in concern, unsure if it was even right to pat her given the earlier event.

"Jac, you okay?"

Rolling his eyes, Luca stood up and leaned to whisper into Kevin's ear.

"Mhm, yeah. You kind of fucked up, bello. I'll try talking to her."

He kissed his cheek and walked around to get to Jac, hoping talking to her will calm her down. He leaned down and patted her head.

"Jac, bella, what's up? What did that idiot say to you?"

Jacquine felt a hand on her head, it was gentle and it helped with her uneasyness and she started to feel much more calmer.

'He said my Papa was a liar' she said finally 'my Papa would never lie, he is a good person'

Thank god for Luca. It was a lot easier to deal with things with reason, and well with Jacquine, reason not a tool in his favour.

He sighed in relief, though still guilty. Knowing it'd been an offhanded comment, made himself further warier with approaching topics with her. What else was there that would have her react like this?

"I'm really sorry Jac," he repeated, unsure what else there was to say. "Really sorry."

Jacquine had trouble looking at Kevin in the eye and chose to nervously look around the room, playing with the hem of her dress.

'It is okay' she said 'please do not say such horrible things again' she finished, finally looking at Kevin with a look that was almost pleading.

Her eyes spotted Nathan holding what looked like a chocolate cake, which perked her mood up.

'Hello, Mister Nathan' she said happily 'is that cake for you?'

"Hm? Cake? Oh no! This isn't cake! It's like... Um... A pudding in the shape of a cake?" Nathan said, smiling at Jacquine. "And it isn't for me. I thought the group might like some. It's called sex-in-a-pan, and it's really good, just way too sweet for me to eat."

He had a terrible sense of taste, but yet, he still could not stand to eat large amounts of sweet things. It made his stomach hurt, and it felt like he was going to throw up after ingesting large amounts of sugar. Nathan knew he'd probably die if he tried to eat all of the dessert by himself.

'Mister Nathan, you are so kind' she said giving him a quick hug. 'But it is not time for dessert as we have not had supper yet'

Please don't say horrible things. He didn't need to hear it twice; with the clarification on what he did wrong, he was sure not to speak of anyone's parents again. Or approach sex with Jac because that was more awkward than he'd expected. Upon further thought, he wondered how many of his fellow heroes here had daddy issues. It seemed like trope seemed to stick from what he'd learnt in his experience -- from personal profiling and first-hand.

"Sure," he replied in reassurance. When her attention soon shot towards Nathan with his food, and his own went to Luca. He quietly grabbed the man's hand and gave a wry smile.

"Hey, thanks," he said.

Freshly showered after a nice workout, Rachel was just about ready to get cooking. She hummed to herself as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Alrighty, who's ready for some grub- oh! Didn't realize the kitchen was already occupied!" She said, nodding at the people already gathered. She made her way to rack of pots and pans, noticing Nathan chowing down on some sweets. Rachel tutted, "Nathan, honey, you're going to spoil your appetite if you eat dessert before dinner." She grinned to let him know she was just joking- he was a grown ass man, he could make his own decisions. Now, what to make, hmmm...
"Pasta sounds nice- alright, need a pot..." Her sentence trailed off as she plucked an appropriate piece of cookware from the rack and filled it with water, heating it on the stove. Time to let that boil. She turned back to the group, "Sooooooo what's going on here?"

'Madam Acrylic!' Jacquine said excitedly, Giveing her a kiss on the lips and a tight hug. 'Mister Nathan had bought everyone a Sex-in-a-Pan, it is funny because it is also like Dessert-in-a-Pan, which is what it is. Is it not funny?' Jacquine giggled at the play on words.

"Ciao, Rachel. Trying to teach Jac about sex, and failing. Wanna have a go? You'd be pretty good at that... you know, especially with some demonstrations," he said with a wink.

Luca grinned at the newcomer before his hand was caught in a firm grip. He turned and shrugged back. He would have tried the challenge until Kevin's questions seemed to make her uncomfortable.
Now, he just didn't have the patience to teach about sex anyway, especially if she'll just cry at everything he'll say or do.

And he hasn't finished his lunch yet.

Rachel froze dead in her tracks as Jac kissed her.
Okay, I've seen french movies and that is NOT the normal french kiss welcome thing! She screamed in her head. Thankfully she managed to remain catatonic for only a moment before regaining her senses. She was improving. Yay!
"Sex in a- huh. Right. Must be really good if they named it after... yeah."
And then that italian jerk spoke up. Rachel was starting to regret making pasta.
"I- I do NOT- you-" She took a breath, calming down, "I do not like what you are implying, SIR."
But still... Rachel remembered her first little "chat" with Jacquine that led down that path. Something obviously happened to her in childhood that got her developed all wrong. Maybe a little further thinking could help set the girl straight.
