Evan took some water from the fridge downing half the bottle in one go. Everyone was still getting used to the facilities at their disposal, and Evan had donned his Freefall uniform and decided to test drive the training area that morning. It had been good, but now he was hungry, and was not the best cook, looking through the fridge for something easy. An apple would do.

It was then he realised how quiet everything was, and with this group that was probably not a good thing.

It had taken Nat several days to move into the mansion. He had made a large fuss to make sure he got the largest room, even though all of them were quite massive, and then hired a company to help move his favourite books and collections into his new place. There was no telling how long they would be spending there, so it would be best to be prepared, not to mention feel at home.

"It's surprisingly quiet," he muttered to himself, an old habit of his coming from living alone for years.

"Yo, anyone around?" He wandered through one of the living rooms, walking lazily towards the kitchen, shirtless yet with his mask on for style.

Evan froze for a second. Someone else was here. Although the mansion was so big, everyone could probably go all day and barely run into each other.

"Kitchen!" Evan called in response, although he wasn't sure how excited he was to see Joule. He hadn't decided what he thought of him just yet. But he'd find out.

Arkady still hadn't finished unpacking his things after moving here. And he probably wasn't gonna. He had only just woke up, and rather than walking down the stairs and to the kitchen, he was manipulating the electrical currents around the mansion, creating a field around himself and flying there instead. Was this a waste of power? Probably. Did he care? Not in the slightest. Right now all he cared about was getting something to drink. And eat. Food sounded good.

He hovered in through one of the kitchen's side entrances, wearing nothing but a thin tshirt and his underwear, and a head full of bed hair. He kind of looked like the walking dead- or rather, floating dead, in this case. Just barely registering that Evan was also in the kitchen, he mumbled out a sleepy, half-yawn that sounded like "Morning-noon-whatever," as he plopped down in front of the fridge.

Evan watched Kade fly in and raised an eyebrow in amusement, screwing the bottle back on his water.

"Good morning, sleepy head." He said smirking pushing himself to sit on the counter. "You look like you were dragged through a bush, someone isn't a morning person are they?" He was half teasing. He could get like this when he didn't have to be Freefall the hero.

The Divine Queer Mansion Empty Re: The Divine Queer Mansion

Post by Phoenix Sun Jul 20, 2014 11:38 pm

Nathan had been up since the crack of dawn. He hadn't really gotten any sleep the night before, but that was beside the point. What mattered was that he was in a new place, and stuck in a room that was easily the size of his old apartment. The whole mansion from the small glimpses he had seen of it, was beyond spacious, and it really worried Nathan. Coming from the shabbier side of the already awful Fringes, Nathan wasn't used to such a luxurious house, and it truly did worry him that he might mess up and accidentally burn the place to the ground. And all of these strangers he had yet to meet...

Nathan sighed softly, looking at his already unpacked room. It hadn't taken all that long. Nathan didn't have much stuff. It was hard to, being a walking fire hazard. He was really nervous now, since he was sure that he would never be able to pay for any damages he caused.

Sighing again, Nathan decided it was about time to find something to eat. Maybe even meet some of the other people who lived in the mansion as well. So Nathan found himself venturing forth into the mansion, and quickly realising that he had no clue as to where anything was. Or where he was. He paused, glancing around, unsure of what to do.

'Nice one, you idiot.'
'Shut up...'

Rachel had made sure to get up at first light to go for a run around the Gardens- new place or no, she had a training regiment to stick too, and that mean morning runs. After a couple of stretches and cooldown exercises, she made her way back inside the mansion. A good workout meant a good, rewarding breakfast. She was gonna make SO many pancakes and no force in the universe could stop her.
Making her way to the kitchen, she noticed it was already occupied by a pair of individuals- Evan and Kade.
"Well, looks like I'm not the only early riser. Morning, boys."
A quick browsing of the pantry the previous day helped Rachel quickly gather the flour, eggs, and etc that she'd need to make her pancake breakfast of champions. Time to get cookin'!

Another day. Another nightmare... or at least reality. Granted Arayda was plenty aware that she could have been in her previous situation, which wasn't any better (although, she didn't particularly mind being able to play lone wolf in the grunge of the city... had she not been starving almost every hour of the day.)

Her eyes strained to open this morning as usual, and while she was naturally woken by the streaming sunlight, she crawled back under her covers praying she didn't have to go anywhere.

'But you're hungry,' she told herself, and she abruptly rolled herself off her bed.

The sudden drop pulled her covers with her. She blew strands of her atrocious bed hair from her sight as she threw her blanket back on the bed where it belonged, only to have her dressed in boxer shorts and a bra. Fighting the slight chill, she pried herself from the floor, forcing her legs downstairs to find something to placate her rumbling stomach.

Approaching the kitchen, it seemed everyone was around. For a slight moment, she sighed, before deciding to get along with her quick task and only to realise Kade was crouched in front of the fridge. All she planned was to get some fruit before heading back later to scavenge whatever was left in the cabinets.

Standing directly behind him, arms akimbo, she considered shoving him away roughly. Instead she tried reaching in, propping her hand on his neck as she reached for an apple near the lower shelves of the fridge.

Kade stared, bleary eyed into the fridge for a few moments, before his brain registered that Evan had said something. He glanced over his shoulder, blinking owlishly and then huffing through his nose. "Mornings should be illegal," he grumbled, far too tired right now to come up with anything smart to say back.

He returned to looking through the fridge, trying to will cognitive thought into working properly so that he could process what he was looking at, giving Rachel a half hearted "Hey" as she busily puttered about the kitchen.

Wait, Rachel in the kitchen meant food. Rachel food. The prospect of potentially persuading pancakes out of her snapping him into wakefulness, he was about to shut the fridge when a hand suddenly appeared on his neck. He jumped a little, as he took a second to realise that it was Arayda trying to push him aside.

Kade didn't move, he just stood there and let her lean on him and reach past, and he looked her up and down, seeing that she was in her underwear. "Bit early for that, isn't it sugar? Give me a chance to wake up, first," he said with a smirk, an eyebrow cocked.

"Kade, if you want pancakes you'll keep it in your pan-"
She turned towards the fridge as Kade made his little remarks, stirring the pancake batter. Her voice caught for a moment as she saw Arayda in her bed clothes. A blush creeped upon her face- damn she was such a hypocrite. Rachel, you useless lesbian.
"... Pants."
Clearing her throat a little she went back to furiously mixing the pancake batter, the built-in griddle on the stove heating up. What with everyone getting up it seems like she'd have quite the order to fill.
Fortunately for Rachel, she used to work at a Waffle House to pay for college.

Arayda almost got a hold of an apple before she heard her prop stand speak. Without a moment of thought, she sharply elbowed Kade in the head, shooting a glare his way.

"Please, do keep talking," she said, sarcasm dripping from her tongue.

She heard, Rachel reprimand Kade, having her turn around to look with her grumpy face still intact. She saw Rachel pause for a moment, cheeks reddening. She didn't have the slightest idea why Rachel would be so worked up about being embarrassed about she was saying and quirked an eyebrow for a second in disbelief.

Wow she looks cute when she's grumpy- NO! BAD BRAIN! BAD!
Rachel hurriedly started pouring batter on the griddle top, avoiding Arayda's gaze.
"Alright, who wants pancakes? Everyone? That's great!" she said, a little loudly and forcing a smile. Excellent bluffing skills there, Rachel. You deserve and Oscar.
Globs of batter fried on the griddle, and rachel added chocolate chips and blueberries to a third of them each. This was gonna be a lot of pancakes.

Kade grunted as an elbow connected with the side of his head. Should have seen it coming, really. It hadn't really hurt that much, but he rubbed at his head anyway, chuckling as he stepped back and just out of Arayda's reach. He opened his mouth, another smart comment already forming, before he heard the mention of pancakes. Rachel had already threatened to take away his pancake rights if he didn't behave. But the urge to antagonise Arayda even more was nearly overwhelming.

He stood there in thought for a moment, struggling between the two. One one hand, making Arayda mad would be hilarious. On the other, pancakes. He'd never had such a difficult decision to make in his life.

But Rachel seemed to be making an overabundance of pancakes anyway.

So.

Being a prick it was.

"Oh, you like it rough, huh?" he asked with a snort, fully aware of the fact that she would more than likely cut him this time.

"Heeey everyone!" Wearing a grin, his mask and his underwear, Nat sauntered into the thankfully more than spacious kitchen.

"What did I miss? Or rather, was I missed? Can't go ahead starting the party without me, the head of the house here y'know!" He grabbed a milk carton out of the nearest fridge - there were several around - downed half of it, then put it back, wiping his mouth with his arm.

"Did I hear something about pancakes? Rachel darling, how kind of you to offer to make them for me! Though make sure you use the healthy, organic mixture with the oats and the low sugar! Can't have all that extra sugar and fat now can we?"

Arayda quickly switched her focus back at Kade. That slugging smartass, trying her nerves almost every single time they passed each other. She knew she needed to practise tolerance, but he while he made the perfect test, it never took him long to want her to slice a hole through his heart.

"Rough?" Arayda cocked her head, before reaching to grapple him towards by his tee. A smirk graced her face before she continued, "I love rough."

That's when she retracted her right leg and aimed a hopefully jarring kick towards his nether regions. For once she was quite grateful that he'd been walking around in his pants.

Rachel rolled her eyes as she manipulated half a dozen different spatulas with her powers- taking a moment to use one to smack Nat on the head.
"Oh, I'll give you something to sugar about, darling-" before she could continue the quip, Arayda's foot went on a deadly trajectory towards Kade's wiener. She could only wince in sympathy and avert her eyes at the last second, not wanting to witness the assault. Some hits just weren't kosher, you know?

Evan just kept his seat on the counter side (away from Rachel's cooking mind you) watching over everything. Kade was setting himself up for a beating and really it was his own fault whatever happened to him.

"Try to remember Nat, the universe doesn't revolve around you..." he said although he knew it was pointless. Nat would believe what he wanted. Evan jumped off the side now his face showing little of what he was feeling. He came up next to Rachel though after throwing his empty bottle in the bin.

"Anything I can help with?"

"Now now, when did I say anything about the universe revolving around me? My mass is hardly that large..." As he spoke, flirty smile on his lips, he made a selection of fruit orbit around him.

"I'm just saying, we're all professionals here, should we not watch our figure and health? How do you expect to go off saving the world and fighting villains with a floppy belly?"

Nat grabbed a peach off the fruit floating around him and took a deep bite, not bothering to wipe the juice dripping down his neck and chest. Letting the rest of the fruit drop, he chucked another peach at Kade, winking at him.

"Tough luck buddy, sweeten up!"

Evan rolled his eyes but grabbed an apple from Joule's orbit. "That's not exactly the bit I was getting at." He said but didn't take it further than that. Instead taking a bite out of the apple.

He tried not to watch him too long because Joule was attractive as he was frustrating and Evan could do without getting involved with Nat in any way beyond the team.

It took him forever, or at least it seemed to, but eventually Nathan picked up the scent of what for sure had to be pancakes cooking. It made his stomach twist uncomfortably, but food meant people, and people meant that he would be able to get a map or something of the layout of the mansion. Which, he decided, would be really useful, as he attempted to follow the scent as he weaved his way through the mansions. However was cooking was like a god sent gift though, he decided.

Nathan was pretty much grinning by the time he managed to find the kitchen, though that expression faltered for a second as he got a glimpse of the people in the room(still larger than his old apartment. Was it really that necessary to super size the entire house?) and the floating fruit.

'Oh look. People who may be crazier than you. I suggest running now/'

Nathan shook his head in mild annoyance at the Voice's intrusion on his thoughts. They couldn't be crazy. Could they? Nathan wasn't sure, and his indecision showed as he seemed to contemplate actually entering the kitchen, or turning and getting lost in the mansion again.

Kade was expecting a powered attack for sure, not a kick to the groin. He barely had time to react, half stepping back and raising a hand to to deflect her attack. He failed, of course. His brain was still somewhat in sleep mode, and far too slow to save him from Arayda's crotch-shot. All he managed to do was soften the blow, doubling over somewhat with a small squeak of "Ow."

Freeing himself from Arayda's grip, he took a few steps back from her in case she decided to make a follow up attack, but still kept that smirk on his face. He recovered in time to catch the peach thrown his way, and winked back at Nat. "Aw, thanks babe. Looking good, as usual."

As he bit into the peach, he glanced over as a guy looking rather like a lost little deer entered the kitchen. He sort of recognised him- although he didn't know his name. But he was cute. That was all that mattered at the moment. "Hey there," he said with that ever present smirk on his face, eyebrow cocked once again in his tell tale method of flirting.

"Not as good as you," his reply to Kade was as flirty as ever.

"Yo, what's up?" Nat eyed up the new person in the room as soon as Kade did, not wanting to feel left out. "You're another Nathaniel huh? We share a name as well as good looks~ Such a pleasure to meet you."

Then, smelling the pancakes, his eyes snapped to Rachel. "For real? No healthy options? Tsk that's such a shame. Guess it's fruit and low fat yoghurt for me again this morning. You people really ought to watch that you eat more."

Rachel rolled her eyes, scoffing, "If you want 'healthy', stick with the blueberry ones. Besides- it's more how you handle the burning of the calories than what you eat." she said, flipping the pancakes into three neat piles for people to self serve from of off platters. Rachel took a trio of chocolate chip pancakes, sticking her tongue out at the Nat she was talking to, not the new Nathan. Gonna have to find a way to differentiate- looks like codenames were gonna quickly become nicknames as well.
"You can eat however you want and as long as you're not sedentary, it'll be fiiiiiiine," she said, chowing down on her delicious, chocolatey goodness, "Everyone just help themselves, plenty of pancakes to go around."
She walked over to new-Nathan, "Hey- Pheonix, right? You need any help? You look a little bamboozled, there."

"I'll have you know I exercise daily. But you still ought to watch your diet. It's all about staying healthy."

Despite that, Joule grabbed a blueberry pancake, popping it on his plate along with several other fruit.

"Well isn't this a great opportunity for us to get to know each other a little better! Why'd you all join? Do tell~"

Settling on a chair towards the centre of the room, to soak up as much attention as possible, his eyes darted from one hero to the other, curious about their stories.
