That had been enough sleep for her. Arayda walked her way back from the garden, heading back towards her room.

While she normally dismissed every soul which passed her way, she noted a familiar strawberry-blonde mess of hair which had her stopping in her tracks.

What?

She turned on her heel, staring at the familiar face. There was a pregnant pause as clockwork turned in her head. It was absolutely not him. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

"What are you doing here, Earl?!" She shouted.

Walking through the long endless hallway, Earl had walked passed few people who seemed like they lived in the mansion. They didn't seemed to care much about him, so he didn't care as well. Instead, he walked down the hallway as his mind decided until he heard someone calling out his name.

"I somehow ended up to be part of the show?"

He mindlessly answered before realizing what had happened. Someone called out his name. The name that people here won't know yet since he never had introduced himself. And the voice calling his name was oddly familiar voice that he had heard many times before. Earl turned his body around to see the source of voice. And there was someone standing on the other side that he found very familiar.

Before he was able to think of what he should do next, Earl's body moved naturally. He let go of his suitcase handle, walked across the hallway to approach her, and hugged her without hesitance. She still looked the same. Maybe her hair grew little longer, and probably she have new scar or two (or maybe more knowing how she is) but generally speaking, she still looked the same. And that really made Earl happy.

"...Arayda? What are you doing here?" He answered as he snuggled against her with a gleeful smile.

Just having her made Earl to feel at ease. It meant that there was someone who he can trust enough to let his true self to show. There was no need to act who would be loved by others all the time now. Though that was if she was still same as past.

It was a shout that woke Jacquine up from her slumber. Although it couldn't be decipher what was said it still piqued her curiosity, so much she didn't question why she was in bed with her clothes holding her one of her stuffed toys.

Opening the door to the hallway she spotted Madam Arayda being hugged by someone she had never met. Jacquine felt a slightly rude interrupting the moment they were having but a new found curiosity (Alongside some good manners) felt it was more appropriate to introduce herself and make them feel welcome.

'Hello, Madam Arayda' She called as she walked over to the pair, giving both parties a curtsy.

"Somehow?" She raised her brow and suddenly she was caught in another one of his warm hugs. Arayda instinctively froze with the contact only to relax with enough time. It'd been a long while since they'd crossed paths.

"To clear debt." Arayda's tone was bitter, knowing that Earl was probably going to either mock or berate her one way or another.

She could already hear his next lines along the lines of, "Why am I not surprised?"

Ugh.

Arayda's quickly head turned at the sound of a figure approaching. Jacquine looked rather tired albiet curious as she approached. In response to her polite greeting Arayda returned a blank stare and a nod.

"Hi."

Reminded that she was still in Earl's awkward vice, she tried to pry her way out.

New people. Again. Just how crowded would this mansion get? Not that there wasn't enough space for everyone, but this team was already larger than what Joule was used to working with. Which was just himself. This was all quite different from his mostly solo career so far. Still, he had to keep up appearances. A hero needed to be loved and well known, a hero needed to be popular, the life of the party.

Wearing his best smile, Joule made his way to the new face, who was amongst some other DQP members.

"Yooo, good morning sweets! And how much brighter it is, with such a gorgeous new face in sight~"

Earl wasn't surprised by the answer Arayda gave. He expected answer similar to such, knowing how Arayda's family was. It was very different from his own family, which he envied to certain point, however they had their own issues just like how his family had. Instead of commenting on such fact, Earl just snuggled her little more, probably to the point it was making her little bit uncomfortable.

However, their reunion was interrupted by someone calling out Arayda's name in such a polite way. He turned his body to see who it was and found a female with short, platinum blond hair. She seemed about his height, if not slightly taller with well built body. It was enough to make him curious about what kind of power she had. Without thinking further, Earl pulled himself off from Arayda and bowed politely with a smile. His usual self was back, letting selfish side of Earl to be replaced by friendly side.

Before Earl was able to introduce himself to new person who had appeared, another person had seemed to notice the group. Taller male with black hair approached them with a bright smile. 'Is everyone in this place all tall?' Earl questioned himself before realizing that he was being rude. He politely bowed again with the usual smile before introducing himself to new people that he had just met.

"Nice to meet you both. Earl Reinhardt, or Guardian. Call me by whichever name that pleases you."

Seeing Arayda's nod, Joule and the new person, who announced himself as Earl, bowing Jacquine took that as a incentive to become more involved in the three. Walking closer to them and giving a quick kiss on Arayda's cheek and Earl's lips (Should would give Joule a welcoming kiss but he was far too tall for her to reach)

'It is a pleasure to meet you Mister Earl' She said with a smile.

Arayda flinched as Jacquine's lips touched her cheek. She screwed her face at the additional contact, turning away before she saw Joule heading in their direction.

Oh great, more people.

She kept to herself, even with the frustratingly spirited Joule's arrival, resigning to the tighter hug. Instead, she stared at Earl's arms around her and intensely wished them gone.

If only if I could slice them right off...

She could just imagine her parent's disapproving looks.

It was an idea she could never put into action.

Slugger.

"What, don't I get a kiss sweetheart?" Joule tried not to break into a grin as he pouted childishly, leaning down so she would be able to reach him.

"Good to meet you Rainheart, you gorgeous thing~" he winked at the newcomer, shaking his hand with a vice-like grip. "Nat, though I would prefer to go by just Joule, though you most likely already know of me from the 3v or the magazines, or the figurines~"

'I am so sorry, mister Joule.' Jacquine said apologetically as she placed a small kiss on his lips.

'You are so tall it is difficult for me to say hello to you properly' she said with concerned look on her face.

Sudden kiss was surprising, probably because it was usually him who was initiating things as such. It took him about a second or so to recover, freeing Arayda from hug. Knowing that it was nothing more than a welcoming greeting, Earl just smiled and took female's hand to kiss the back of her hand.

"My pleasure, miss."

Then he turned his body toward the male, who introduced himself as Joule and shook his hand. Earl remembered his old acquaintance being a fan of his, however he never cared enough attention to follow the trend of all these heroes. He watched the show frankly in order to use it as one of conversation topic, however he didn't paid enough attention to catch minor, or major in such case as his childhood friend being part of the show, details.

"My close acquaintance is huge fan of yours. She would be excited to see you on the show."

Earl said with the usual smile, since that would be true. Though that acquaintance would be bit too excited to see him. Sort of fanatic sort of fan, as Earl used to describe her behavior. Shaking off the thought, Earl remembered that he was on his way to locate his room. With his suitcase standing alone in middle of the hall way, Earl decided that getting to know others can wait until he is fully unpacked with all of his stuff in his area of the room.

"I am terribly sorry to say this but I would like to excuse myself from the scene. Since I have just arrived, it would be nice to unpack my stuff before meeting more people and get amazed."

After giving Joule his deserved greeting kiss and turning to Earl she felt her hand being taken by him as he placed a kiss on it.

Jacquine could feel all the blood rush to her face as she started to blush furiously from Earls actions. She took her hand back unable to produce any words to him as she look down at her feet shifting nervously on the spot.

Arayda saw the opportunity as Earl finally let go of her, she grumbled under her breathe before breaking free. She watched at the affectionate greetings between the three which made her hairs stand on end. Deciding she had no interest in partaking in this group, she began to bail out as soon as possible.

"I'm leaving," she said, and without listening to anyone, she high-tailed out quickly towards her room.

Seeing Arayda leave Jacquine thought it would be an good opportunity to get out of the uncomfortable situation for her but before she could react Arayda had already moved away from the group.

Jacquine considered following suite and ask her to keep her company, until her blushing had died down and she could talk again. But the sadness that erupted in her heart when thinking about her told her it was not a good idea.

She looked back at the two men, trying not to look either one in the eye and feeling a little trapped. On instict she continued to look at her feet, holding the hand that had been kissed.

Seeing Arayda leave the scene, Earl quickly followed her after a quick bow to new people he just met. If he were to ask someone to be a guide him through this mansion, he would prefer asking someone who he was more familiar with. So male quickly followed after his childhood friend, dragging his suitcase.

Catching up with Arayda was surprisingly difficult since he was pulling extra weight. He debated about forming a shield to bound Arayda off, so it would buy him some more time, but using his power in such way wasn't really appealing (plus he didn't wanted to deal with his body aching from such act.) He wasn't sure if she was aware of the fact that he was following her, though he also thought that he wouldn't care much to begin with.

"Slow down. What is up with the rush?"

Earl complained as he finally managed to catch up with her. He wasn't quite sure where exactly they were since he was too occupied with the fact that he had to follow her. If she decided to ignore him, he would be in big trouble... again.

He seemed to be some people attractant at the moment, and the last thing she needed was him to bring anyone closer.

Puffing air into his cheek in disapproving manner, Earl stopped walking along Arayda. If she was ignore him and refuse to look at him, he would have to make her to see him. Letting go of his suitcase's handle, Earl closed his eyes. It has been a while since he did this so it required little more focus than usual.

Earl opened his eyes and calculated the distance between himself and Arayda, then calculated the pace Arayda was walking in. Once he was done with calculation, Earl focused on his power. His hand started glow with transparent mint color as well as hallway where Arayda was walking into. The shield that Earl has created with his power is able to protect anything inside the shield. It is like a wall in general sense, however if Earl controlled it, he could make things to bounce off the shield as well. And that was exactly what he was planning to do with Arayda. If she noticed the wall, she would stop walking and turn around to say something to him. If she didn't notice the wall, she would bump into it and bound right off.

Either way, Earl would able to talk to her little longer. Thinking that, Earl tried his best to keep his focus as well as be prepared for the aftereffect of the power.

Arayda had been expecting Earl to push on, matching her own pace to catch up. Consequently, she increased her speed, only to find herself colliding blindly into one of Earl's shields without noticing. Her face hit first and it stung as she collided and bounced off.

"SLUGGING--!!"

She screeched, falling back. One hand went straight to her face and the other touching the carpet, failing to breaking her fall. Seething at the pain, she looked back to stare at her childhood friend who was pacing towards her from a distance.

"I slugging hate you," she grumbled, glaring at the man.

"But you won't look at me otherwise."

Wincing from the aftereffect of his power, Earl said as he heard the grumble from his friend. He admitted that it wasn't normal way to stop people, but if she paid close attention to where she was going, she would've noticed the faint mint color wall that was blocking her way. It was not his fault that Arayda wasn't looking at where she was going after all.

"And I have heard that phrase more than thousand times already. It is just amazing how I am still alive with so much hate in the world."

Transparent wall disappeared as Earl let go of the idea of wall. Thankfully his body didn't hurt much, which was a good sign. At least now he was able to control his power little better. Dragging his suitcase along, Earl walked up to Arayda and offered her his hand to grab.

"So are you avoiding me or avoiding the crowd from the earlier?"

Her nasty expression was still on her face. He was right, it was always the same routine, and he was well aware the hatred she claimed to have for him was overly dramatised. Arayda took Earl's hand, and stood up. She rubbed at her face, hissing at the pain.

"Both," she replied honestly, "You attract them like bees to honey."

Kevin was resting his eyes in the empty living room, the 3v blaring with news he wasn't paying attention to. He lay on the couch on his back, taking up the entire length of the three-seater, his feet dangling over the edge. He'd pulled an allnighter yesterday, the same night the mission came to a close. While he wasn't in the frontlines -- all thanks to his smart noggin -- he'd been occupied all night, catching up on a backlog of literature he'd planned to read.

I'm still behind.

A sigh escaped and Kevin looked at the ceiling, his vision still a bit hazy. A palm soon closed over his eyes, the cold skin easing him for a moment. His shoulders laxed and he let himself nap for a while, deciding it was best to take the day off.

Jacquine popped her head into the living room, spotting the 3v still swith on, the news announcing the recent events to those who would hear it. Slowly she shuffled towards the couch but not too close to it, just far enough to hear and see if the news were to broadcast something important as she held both her hands to her chest, hoping and waiting for the news she wished to hear.

She released a deep sigh as the news she was waiting for seemed to not be announced. Jacquine began to fidget with her fingers, not knowing what to do next.

"Kevin Howland, you piece of shit!"

Luca stomped into the living room, fists clenched at his sides. He'd been furious ever since he found out that Kevin was supposed to be in their team. Sure, his boyfriend couldn't fight for shit, but Luca would have helped him out. Or better yet, Kevin should've brought him along!

"Faccia a culo!"

In a fit of rage, the Italian jumped onto the sofa and elbow slammed the scientist's sleeping form.

"That was for being a coward. And this," he pinched Kevin's cheeks, none too gently, "is for not bringing me with you, figlio di puttana!"

"AUGRRRHHH!"

Kevin lurched and hacked, waking from his sleep from a sudden pain which knocked wind from his lungs. Toes curled tightly and legs were brought as close as he could, hoping to shield himself from further assault. His arms were wrapped around his bruised chest, feeling quite enraged.

"What the fuck?!" He cursed, seething through the pain. Despite being bleary eyed and dizzy -- perhaps more so than earlier -- he shot enraged look at Luca.

His words meant nothing as his cheeks were then pinched. His hands flew towards his face to pry Luca's fingers off.

"STOP IT, YOU ASSHOLE!"

Luca tightened his grip on Kevin's cheeks, his eyebrows furrowing even further.

"NO! Fuck you, you selfish dipshit! This is what you get for not telling me!"

Growling, he straddled the other man, knees pinning his torso down to keep him from struggling. He freed one of Kevin's cheeks, only for him to lean down and bite Kevin's shoulder.
